Barry Blacklee is part of ink gallery collections and has previously exhibited here as an Open Call artist for Primer, a showcase of painters internationally and UK based artists.
 
Barry Blacklee gained an honours in fine art. His man influencers were the Old Masters such asRembrandt, Carravagii and Goya. Some other important artists that have inspired their art practice are Hogarth Frithand John Singer Sergeant and the social realism movement.
 
Barry prepares a cavases by putting a coloured ground on the surface instead of using a white surface, he finds that white is too stark and off-putting. Whilst using a black is the best ground giving a vibrancy to the colours on the surface. He uses a limited range of mostly translucent oil paints.
